Invisibility Cloak

 Ever get tapped on the shoulder, outside, and not see anyone or anything? Yeah, it’s this tech.

They have something they wear, because routinely I hear something walking on the wooden deck outside my back door, but when you look, nothing. However, I found that just look for an end in your line of sight/vision and you can see a slight shimmer. What they do to prevent that reveal is crouch down, where it gets very hard to see that edge.

Most people just glance, see nothing, and dismiss it. However the wood on my deck – thankfully – is very loose and has dry rot, so any weight, even the weight of a house cat, makes them clonk. Once they realize you’ve caught on, they then usually only use the tech at night or extremely low light, where it is harder to perceive that edge.

I do not know if this is the tech, but what they do have is VERY GOOD. It’s how they can walk right up to you in public and surveil you mere feet away.
